Happy Halloween!

I hope that you and your families have a wonderful holiday. We had a blast last night! We started the evening at a Hallelujah party held at a local church and finished up with visits to the grandparents. Here are some cute pictures from the night.

Happy Halloween!

And now onto the question. If you read this interview from the other day, you know that I am really hoping for a new sewing machine for Christmas. I would really love some advice on what to get. If you have a minute, please leave a comment and tell me what you use. I'd appreciate any recommendations!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sewers Interview

Hi friends! Just popping in to let you know that my friend Darci over at Stitches & Scissors featured me in her Sewers Interview Series. Head on over. :)

When I went browsing through my photos to find one for the interview, I realized that I haven't had a picture of me, just me, taken in years! They are all with the kiddos...not that that is a bad thing! Please tell me that I am not the only mama with that dilemma! Anyways, here is a self portrait taken Saturday morning.
Yes, I'm still in my pajamas.

halloween

I love Halloween. The cutesy (not spooky) version.

I whipped up this little table runner a couple weeks ago, it matches the bunting that I made for the fireplace.

I also got a fun little package in the mail this week! My friend Amanda told me about Haunt, a very cool etsy shop that sells all kinds of bath and body products. I bought two lip glosses, and can you see the flavors?

Pumpkin cake and candy corn. YUM!

That is it for now. Don't forget to enter my giveaway if you haven't already!

mug rug giveaway!

I received the nicest package in the mail from Tiffany (aka tigglegiggles) for the Scrappy Mug Rug Swap I was participating in. Check out this lovely mini quilt and pincushion she made for me. Thanks Tiff, you are the best!

In celebration of my new rug mug, I thought I'd have a little giveaway! Up for grabs are the two mug rugs made by me.

Mug rug #1

Mug Rug #2

You know the drill. For 1 entry, simply comment on this post. For an extra entry, become a follower of this blog and leave a second comment to let me know. And if you are feeling super ambitious and want a third entry, go ahead and blog about it (just be sure to leave a third comment!)

I will pick two winners next Tuesday, October 26th, and the first winner gets their choice of mug rug. I'll also throw in a couple of my jumbo bookmarks in. :)

PS- If you've never seen a mug rug before, think of it as a extra large coaster or a very little quilt. Perfectly sized for a mug and a dessert, they are a nice pop of color for a coffee table or a desk.

this week.

It has been a little quiet here on the blog this week, hasn't it? I've been spending lots of time at the sewing machine, working on a those custom quilts I mentioned a couple of posts ago. I am about 95% done with them (just finishing up those raggedy edges) and am very pleased with the end results. I am using lots of Joel Dewberry's Modern Meadow line, and that makes me very happy.

I also signed up for a new swap over on Flickr. It is the Scrappy Hoops Swap, and I am super excited for it. Here is my inspiration mosaic for my partner, check out these amazing creations. As always, be sure to click on the links below to see the original pictures and details.

Hope you have a wonderfully crafty weekend!

all caught up.

I have several quilt orders coming up, so I spent the past few days catching up in my personal sewing.

This is the finished product for the Scrappy Mug Rug swap on Flickr. I decided to go with Flea Market Fancy in a half Dresden plate. Don't go thinking I'm being too generous, these are very small pieces of fabric. The entire mini quilt is approx. 5x8 inches! :)

I included a couple of extras that were already made: 3 large Heather Ross hexagons and 2 jumbo paperclips/bookmarks. I really hope my partner likes her goodies!

These two string blocks are for Cristin. September is her month in the Bee-autiful quilting bee. Aren't these blues and greens amazing??

And last are these two improv blocks are for Megan's month in the bee. I loved sewing with these out-of-print fabrics, and her quilt is going to be gorgeous.

Alrighty, that is it for now! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

cozy.

I spent the kids' naptime yesterday on the couch with my dog Marley.

We named him before the book Marley and Me came out. Just in case you were wondering. Lots of people ask us if we named him that because of the book. Nope, we just really love Bob Marley.

Anyways, we spent some quiet time on the couch, watching silly TV shows. I did a little crocheting for my house.

It was nice. :)
