Blogger's Quilt Festival 2010

It is time for the Fall 2010 Blogger's Quilt Festival, hosted by Amy of Amy's Creative Side. My entry this year is the quilt I made for my daughter Finley, who is now four months, this past spring.

My inspiration was this gorgeous quilt I came across on Flickr. I used one of my favorite newer lines, Joel Dewberry's Modern Meadow in Berry, paired with a natural colored linen/cotton blend.

This is the first time that I used embroidery in a quilt, and I am so happy with how it turned out! I went for a very simple patchwork layout with straight line quilting in order to highlight the embroidery.

So there you go, my entry for this year! If you haven't had a chance to enter yet, make sure you head on over to Amy's to join in the fun.

xoxo, Ang

This is so beautiful. I'm currently working with the blue colorway of the same line and I love seeing the 'girly' version! The embroidery is gorgeous. And I love that you used a natural/linen color. It really warms it up rather than the grey that is so popular (and I've been staring at). It's funny because that color is so popular in scrapbooking, but you don't see it much in quilting.

Oh wow, this is beautiful and how sweet with the embroidery, especially your daughter's name on it :) I'm going to have to bookmark this for later *grin*. I have made so many quilts over in my head for my daughter that if she actually had them all there wouldn't be any room for her in her bedroom *grin*.

Ok I have only toyed with the idea of making a quilt. This is gorgeous and I would love to make this. How do I do that. Is it a pattern....?

Your quilt is pretty and the embroidery is delightful.

What a wonderful quilt! I love the embroidery accents. Your little girl is so lucky to have you for a mama. I'm a slacker mama who hasn't even started her baby boy's quilt yet, and he's 6 months old now. Hmmm... I better get on that! :)
